Are there still dancers being added to this database?
Yes!
What can I do when I don't find a singer?
Make sure that Strict mode and Invert filter are disabled and write in Greek. You can also write in Greeklish, but since there
is no standard for Greeklish, there is a chance that your input may not be interpreted as expected.
You can also write only a part of the name.
If you still can't find the singer, please email me.
What can I do when I don't remember the name of a singer?
You can write only a part of the name. If you don't know a part of the name, you can use other filters. Set
the Gender filter to Female if the singer is a woman. It can be handy to sort the list by Birth date.
If you know a famous song of the singer, you can search by the song title. Change the Name filter to Famous
song filter. Keep in mind that song information is not available for every singer.
How can I get a list of singers who have songs with the Τσάμικος (or other not listed) rhythm?
As you may understand, checking every song of a singer involves a lot of work.
Therefore, not every rhythm is available in the Info filter.
If a rhythm is not available, you can set the filter to a rhythm within the same music style.
Singers that have Καλαματιανός songs mostly also have Τσάμικος songs and
singers that have Τικ songs mostly also have Διπάτ songs.
How can I determine which singers have their birthdays on a specific date?
Set the Birth date filter to "The same as ****-02-10" to see which singers have their birthdays on 10 February.
How can I determine which singers are born in a specific year?
Set the Birth date filter to "The same as 1982-**-**" to see which singers are born in 1982.
What is the Check Database section?
When adding singers or creating new functionality, it is easy to make mistakes.
To avoid that, I have created many tests. The tests check if the functions work correctly, the database
contains no duplicates, wrong genders etc. You don't need this section, it is just for me (Fred Bolder).
If you are a software engineer like me, feel free to take a look at the code. I wanted to program this site
just in Vanilla JavaScript. In this case I find it handier than React and MongoDB.
What is the Convert Greek to Greeklish section?
Greek names or song titles on sites are often written in Greeklish. This section is a handy tool for converting
Greek to Greeklish. You can copy the result and use it where you want. I use it often for writing my Greek music
books.
